| Mel "Frog" and Karen Dollarhide |
Mel Dollarhide, a lifetime resident of Springfield used his artistic ability as a pinstriper as a way to earn extra income to support his hobbies of building Harley Davidson choppers and later hot rod cars. With his paint and brushes he traveled the four state area to car and bike shows. Frequently there was a line of customers waiting for him to "lay some lines" or add some other personal touch. Mel has painted on everything from street rods, custom motorcycles, to garden tractors and helicopters.During those early days he acquired the nick-name of "FROG". In 1987 he left his career as a machinist and went into the sign business full time. The natural choice for this new venture was obvious and Frogs Detailed Specialties was born.

| Doug and Cindy Dollarhide |
Doug, Mel’s oldest son accompanied his Dad many times in those early years. As a young teenager Doug began free handing patterns for race car graphics. He helped his Dad with layouts while developing his talent with an air brush. Doug was only 16 when he was hired to paint his first sign for a local business. When Frogs first opened, Doug continued his full-time work building limousines. He helped grow the business on nights and weekends. A short time later the business was able to support both families and Doug joined his Father full-time. Twenty plus years later, Doug and Mel still work together everyday.
